ABOUT THE ARTIST

Known for creating romantic, thought-provoking tonal landscapes, Simon Winegar aims to offer collectors a vision of beauty that contrasts with the negativity often found in modern culture. “Sometimes it seems like we live in an ugly, unforgiving world,” says Winegar. “So the point of what I do is to attempt to beautify the world. I want to create a mood that moves the viewer.” — American Art Collector, March 2008

Born in Utah in 1979, Winegar grew up in the suburbs of Salt Lake City and discovered his passion for art at an early age. Encouraged by his mother and inspired by his older brother Seth, he spent much of his childhood drawing and painting. Alongside formal workshops, Winegar credits much of his artistic development to personal study and art books, which helped him refine both his technical skills and artistic philosophy.

Since entering the market in 2000, Winegar’s work has earned widespread recognition. His paintings have been featured in numerous magazines, books, and galleries across the United States, as well as nearly a dozen solo exhibitions. His work has also been exhibited at institutions including the Springville Museum of Art, Museum of Church History and Art, and the International Museum of Contemporary Masters of Fine Art.

Though best known for landscapes, Winegar also explores figurative, still life, seascape, and historical subjects. His commitment to experimentation and continual growth keeps his work evolving and deeply engaging.
